I’ve realized I really enjoy being single. Obviously today is valentine’s day and obviously my instagram stories were flooded with happy couples on their happy days for their happy happy lives. And for the first time in awhile, I didn’t feel envious. I didn’t wish that was me in their shoes. I actually smiled when seeing all the love on my page. That’s when I realized that I just love being single. No one to stress me out or worry me, just…perfect. I think this feeling is coupled with the fact that I’m really comfortable with who I am right now, probably the most comfortable I’ve ever felt. Instead of seeking validation from a man or friends I am able to just be comfortable being me. Although it would be nice if I got my meals paid every once in awhile. But whatever

I also got three new records today. A man on trousdale was selling a whole collection of his stuff from records to CDs to posters to comics and more. He was one of those oldheads who has so much knowledge about the world and shares it any chance he gets. But I enjoyed that about him. I’ve been seeing him these past few days as I walk home and yesterday I decided to ask if he had any records since I vaguely remember them sitting on that colorful carpet of his. He said he did! Yay! but in his car. not yay. He told me to come back the next day, so I did. As I sorted through his entire collection of vinyls we chatted and chatted about anything. Honeslty, it was mainly it was him speaking and me nodding my head while I searched, but I enjoyed the company. I originally picked out 2 albums. Luther Vandross and ____. He reccomended the latter to me. I went to pay but he was upset I didn’t choose the ___ album. So he gave it to me for free! Just because he wanted to share the love of music. That touched my heart. And!!! He only wanted TWENTY BUCKS FOR IT ALL!!! I gave him an extra ten for his kindess and wisdom. This is why I love building a community. It’s just so wholesome. I don’t get that much out here in LA —a big reason why I miss Philly. All I have to do now is figure out where the plug is for my record player………..
